India Post Offices in Serchhip, Mizoram

Out in central Mizoram, the post still reaches a lot of small upland villages, and that is really what India Post does here. Serchhip district counts 28 post offices in Serchhip spread over six PIN codes, every one of them starting with 796. There is no head office of its own in the district, so it depends on two sub offices and 26 branch offices to do the village-level work.

Most of that activity sits in the Serchhip area, the dominant tract with the largest share of offices, taking in the town of Serchhip itself along with Thenzawl. The remaining counters fall under the East Lungdar tract, reaching villages like Chhingchhip, Khawlailung and Leng. A handful of others, such as Bungtlang, Chekawn and Hmuntha, keep the more remote settlements connected. With no district head office, mail clears and moves on through the Aizawl head office before going further afield. The branch offices in the villages tend to open very early and shut by the middle of the day, so post in the morning if you can.
